Rest Areas
Client : Montana Department of Transportation
Anaconda
The Anaconda Rest Area was designed for the Montana Department of Transportation and incorporates the rich mining and railroad history of the area and will eventually connect with the future SuperFund Greenway Service District trail system.
Bozeman
MDT called upon CWG Architects to create an entirely new concept for the new North 19th Avenue interchange in Bozeman. It was during the design of this facility that CWG learned about the need for better security and for providing a sense of comfort for travelers. The Bozeman Rest Area is one of the most advanced and pleasant rest areas in Montana.
Dena Mora
This project involved the replacement of a rest area, involving two separate facilities serving eastbound and westbound travelers on Interstate 90, in western Montana. RPA was responsible for the site improvements including sidewalks, parking lot expansion, lighting, regrading and demolishing the existing facilities. RPA also provided the design for the water supply, for disinfection treatment and for the pressurized, elevated mound drain field. Early in the design process RPA and the client’s architect fostered a good working relationship to ensure accuracy and compatibility of each profession’s design. Peaks to Plains and SK Geotechnical provided subconsultant services for this project also. The construction cost for this MDT rest area was $2.9 Million
